So it’s been a LONG time since I wrote a blog! I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had too much time to connect. I am really going to make an effort to post at least once a month and highlight some of the ACTUAL dental work I’m doing instead of focusing on the business aspect of the office. I’m sure you’re more interested in that, right?
Anyhow I did something VERY EXCITING this weekend and attended a Six Month Smiles training seminar. It was great and I can’t wait to get started next week treating patients. Six Month Smiles are cosmetic braces for adults who simply want to change crooked or spaced out teeth in about six months. It’s fast, predictable, and affordable so I’m confident it will serve many of my patients well and drastically improve their appearance and confidence! It’s exactly the reason I love being a Dentist:)
We are running a FANTASTIC special for our first 10 Six Month Smiles patients so please call the office at 443-712-7200 for details. You will not be disappointed!
Here are some pics of the training (Thanks Allison!)
Yes I am the fool with the loupes and headlight. I CAN’T SEE without them!! I used to have such great eyes, sigh…
This is my assistant Linda playing the fool…like always
Bands, brackets, wire and voila, straight teeth!
Of course my Husband is the obligatory guinea pig so he’ll be making a consultation visit next week and give the team feedback on what we can do to improve the patient experience. His braces on appt will be in about 2 weeks so I’ll give myself plenty of time to see how long it takes me to bond brackets and places wires and bands. He’s the perfect/imperfect patient because like most men he’s a big baby so I have to take many deep breaths and be super duper pop sugar sweet Dr O. Haha! It’s true men you’re babies…but we love and accept you anyway:)
I have some other exciting news. We are now open on Fridays 9:00-2pm! My last Friday at iBrush Family Dental was on 3/30 and I was treated to a lovely lunch with Dr Tracy King and Dr Susan Seto. I loved working there and will truly miss my colleagues and support staff. They sent me off with lots of love and support so no tears just hugs, laughter, and high fives.
Speaking of 5, our team has now grown to 5. Two new part-time assistants Allison and Gabrielle have joined the practice. They are both fairly new out of dental assisting school and will bring some fun energy to the practice and some much needed extra help. They have wonderful attitudes and are serious about helping patients have an enjoyable dental experience. I’ll have their bios up soon so you can read more about them.
In the summer our team will become 6 when Oral Surgeon, Dr Edna Buckle joins the practice once a month to treat all those wisdom teeth impactions I can’t do. I do have some patients who are interested in implants too so we shall see…She is an excellent and compassionate surgeon so you will be in great hands. Of course laughing gas and twilight sedation will be available for our nervous patients.
SO that was a lot right? The practice is almost 6 months old and so much has happened. Can’t wait to experience the second half of our first year journey! Until next month…
