So our one year anniversary is fast approaching and it’s been one hell of a ride. I don’t even recognize the office let alone myself from a year ago.
To begin, the last 2 ops are finally finished next week and my new hygienists can work out of those rooms. Being able to have hygienists has been an absolute blessing for myself and my patients. They get the quality time they would like discuss their oral health and I have more time to work on bigger treatment plans and running the office. It was getting to the point where new patients would have to wait 4 weeks for an appt! Here are some pics of the room and my fabulous hygienists Natasha and Sarah!
I think I’ve tweeked the schedule to an ideal one for this point in my life. We dropped Fridays, extended Tuesdays and Thursday to 6pm, and dropped down to one Saturday a month. Also, one Saturday a month, Oral Surgeon Dr Edna Buckle comes to the office to see cases I don’t do. With this schedule we are able to catch all different types of patients, work more effectively, and increase production goals. I don’t think I can add an associate right now but it would be nice to take a vacation and have someone cover me…. also it can be a little isolating being a solo practice owner. I’ve been meaning to join a study group and I need to get serious about that. However, for now I’m just enjoying the extra time I’m spending with my family.
Speaking of family tomorrow is my oldest son’s Manny’s 6th Birthday! He started Kindergarden this year at Lyons Mill Elementary and I’m so impressed with his growth. He’s such a caring older brother, fearless adventurer, and hard worker. He was born prematurely and is tirelessly working hard to catch up to his peers and it’s finally paying off. He is reading, making new friends, and looking like a future BOSS.
Hahaha! Until next time:)
